Assistant Accountant
A highly successful manufacturing business in North Yorkshire are currently seeking a Part Qualified/ Newly Qualified Assistant Accountant for a minimum 6 – 9 month contract to cover maternity. The purpose of the role will be to act as a key member of the Finance team providing financial accounting and management reporting support to the business unit. Specifically inter-company Sales and Purchases Reconciliations, Debtors Analysis, Central Cost Analysis and ad hoc duties at month end, quarter end and year end.
Main Duties:
As Assistant Accountant you will be responsible for:
• Agreement of inter-company sales & purchases at month end, UK and non UK
• Liaising with sales ledger & purchase ledger
• Upload of Intercompany information into the group reporting tool HFM at month end with the reconciliation of differences
• Month end debtors portfolio analysis
• Review and management of central “Shared Costs” and month end postings of accruals and prepayments
• Weekly retail analysis
• Ad hoc requirements on budgeting and forecasting
• Provision of balance sheet reconciliations as required
• Identifying and developing improvements to processes and controls
• Provision of reporting using SAP & BW for Group, BU, Opcos
• Assisting in the year end activities for the site including Audit Files
• Ad Hoc reporting for Group and Business Unit
• Provide cover and support to other members of the finance team as required
Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant who is looking to further develop their career within Finance. Whilst the role initially is a 6 month contract and there are no guarantees at this stage, there is a strong possibility that the role may be extended or even made permanent for the right person.
Key Skills:
In order to be considered for the role of Assistant Accountant you will need to have:
• Part Qualified/ Newly Qualified recognised accountancy qualification (ACCA/ CIMA (or equivalent)
• SAP experience
• Strong Excel skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
